Psychological and emotional difficulties

Mental health is similar to physical health: everybody has it and we need to take care of it

Good mental health means you are generally able to think, feel and behave in the way you need and want to. If you go through a difficult period in your life, you might find that your mental health is affected. You might find you are thinking and feeling different, or you might struggle to do the things you usually do. You might feel that life is difficult or even impossible to cope with.

Experiencing mental health problems can often feel upsetting, confusing and scary - especially at first. However, mental health problems are actually very common. Most people will know someone who has experienced a mental health problem and they can happen to anyone.

Psychological input for mental health conditions

Psychological therapies are recommended by the National Institute for Clinical  Excellence (NICE) and are effective for the following difficulties:

  • Depression

  • Generalised anxiety disorder

  • Health anxiety

  • Low self-esteem

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Panic disorder

  • Phobias

  • Social anxiety

  • Stress

I am experienced in providing psychological assessment and treatment for these difficulties, mainly using a CBT approach.
